According to a story in The Mirror:
Matilda, Mrs Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street star Mara Wilson says she has “embraced” the “bi label” as she opened up about her sexuality on Twitter.
Child star Mara – also known for her roles in Mrs Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street – said she felt compelled to open up to fans following the attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
49 people were killed at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub in what marks the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
Writing movingly on the micro-blogging site, Mara shared a picture of herself in a gay club from 10 years ago.
“Me at a gay club when I was eighteen. I feel embarrassed looking at it now…” she wrote.
“Being a ‘straight girl’ where I clearly didn’t belong, but I will say, I felt so welcomed there.
“I have never had a better experience at a club than I did then. Great music and people. And one of my friends met his partner that night!
“I haven’t been to one since college, except once when a friend brought me along. I didn’t feel like I belonged there.
“But the LGBTQ community has always felt like home, especially a few years later when I, uh, learned something about myself. So thank you.
