Two Men Arrested For Refusing To Pull Up Saggy Pants At Waffle House
According to story in NewsOne “The 22-year-old men were patronizing a Waffle House in Spartanburg, S.C., when they were asked by the establishment’s security guard to pull up their saggy pants because their boxers were far too exposed. When the pair reportedly refused to comply with the guard’s request, sheriff’s deputies were summoned, according to the Smoking Gun. When sheriff’s deputies arrived at the establishment to speak to the men, the officers were allegedly met with hostility, the police report states. The deputies contend that both men responed to their questions with profanity. Gehring, according to the police report, showed clear signs of intoxication, bloodshot/glassy eyes, slurred speech, constant verbal repetition, and just overall nonsensical banter. The guard told officers he had asked the men to leave the premises but they tag-teamed him with belligerent behavior.
The men also allegedly continued their barrage of foul language when the deputies arrived. The report states the men were vulgar and loud enough to be overheard by other Waffle House patrons. Yet the men did not seem to care about the public spectacle they were making of themselves. At one point during the deputies’ interrogation of Gehring and Johnson, “both advised that they were out to have fun and implied they were Wofford students graduating” and “it wasn’t their concern that proper decorum was needed in the public domain,” states the police report.”
