Then Hillary would, they assumed, win a second term in 2020. Why even think about who would run in eight years?
A dozen or so frantic hours later, things took a decided turn against the entrenched Democrats. Suddenly, they had to worry about who they were going to nominate in four years. And when they look to their bench, the lineup suggests a stinging three-word description that came from retiring Sen. Harry Reid, no less.
