Poll Context: Donald Trump crushed Marco Rubio in Florida which had to have been a huge blow to Rubio’s confidence; in fact Rubio suspended his White House campaign after surrendering his home state to Trump, who won 45% of the vote to his 27%. In his concession speech he told the audience that he would not be president this year or maybe never. His rivalry with Trump took a bitter turn which he obviously regrets but Trump has already put that behind him saying in his victory speech, ‘I want to congratulate Marco Rubio on having run a really tough campaign.’ He went on, ‘He’s tough. He’s smart, and he’s got a great future.’
Trump really wants to win the nomination before the convention and having Rubio on his side or even neutral could help that happen. Is it likely? Should Trump reach out?
