This black woman confronts a white man, Cory Goldstein, about his dreadlocks.
You’re saying that I can’t have a hairstyle because of your culture?” the white man with dreadlocks,Goldstein, responds. “Why?”
“Because it’s my culture,” she says. “Do you know what locs mean?”
“Right before she handed me one she said, ‘Oh sorry we don’t want people with your hair here,'” he said. “I called her rude and I walked away because I don’t need that in my life I don’t need the negativity and I left that situation.”
“At the time it just really felt like she was demeaning me and demoralizing me,” Goldstein said. “[The dreadlocks] are something that’s part of who I am. I believe they are powerful and helped amplify myself and helped me connect to this world.”
This is an example that people of all races can be racist and that’s what this woman is — a racist who had no right to bother that man at all.
