Poll Context: Donald Trump said Sunday on Meet the Press that he’s looking into paying the legal fees of the 78-year-old supporter who sucker-punched a black protester at a rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Wednesday. 78-year-old John McGraw punched Jones and was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and disorderly conduct and will return to court on April 6.
‘I’ve actually instructed my people to look into it, yes,’ Trump told NBC’s Chuck Todd.
‘I don’t accept responsibility,’ Trump replied. ‘I do not condone violence in any shape,’ Trump added.
‘And I will tell you from what I saw, the young man stuck his finger up in the air, and the other man sort of just had it,’ Trump explained.
Do you agree with Trump paying McGraw’s legal fees?
